It’s Christmas year-round here at DLI camp! We’re always in a giving mood.

As part of our partnership with US99 for their Live Country Series, we’re giving away 40 free pairs of tickets to see Josh Turner at a private concert here in Chicago on February 11!

These tickets are not for sale, so here’s your chance to win!

Hop over to this contest page to learn what steps need to be taken to enter (21 and older only). Any Illinois resident can enter now through January 31 and we’ll notify the winners by February 2.

Naperville Teen Tackles Organ Donation for Eagle Scout Project

September 14, 2009

Recently, an ambitious teen by the name of Kevin Haga tackled a lifesaving project to help register Illinois residents as organ/tissue donors as his final project for becoming an Eagle Scout. Working in conjunction with Donate Life Illinois volunteers, Kevin coordinated a donor registration drive for Naperville’s Last Fling parade.

Check out some photos from the Parade as well as this article commending Kevin’s efforts in the Naperville Sun.

In addition, Kevin put together this video below to supplement his call to action. Hopefully Kevin’s efforts inspire other teens to help tackle similar projects to spread the word on donation.

Thanks Kevin!

Ask the Organ Donor Expert – Doctors Don’t Save Lives?

September 10, 2009

False!

As part of our Ask the Organ Donor Expert series, the misconception about doctors not wanting to save your life if they know you’re a registered organ donor frequently surfaces.

The misconception was addressed today in this Sun-Times article about a Lake Zurich college student that is currently awaiting a heart transplant. We also wanted to share this video from our organ donor expert, Dave Bosch, to hammer home why this is a misconception.
