This Saturday, we’ll be gathering at the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois with Donate Life Rose Parade float rider Anne Gulotta as well as the Chana family to decorate two floragraphs that will be placed on this year’s Donate Life float.
What are the floragraphs?
The Donate Life float’s 77 floragraphs depict how ‘New Life Rises’ as deceased organ, eye and tissue donors give life, hope and health to those in need. Through these artistic portraits — most of which are decorated by their family members — we honor them, their families, and donors everywhere.
On Saturday, Anne will be decorating a floragraph in honor of her late husband Jay and the Chanas will be decorating one for their son Cameron who became a donor earlier this year (the Daily Eastern News did a nice mention of Cameron today). I’d encourage you to hop over to both of these links to read the full story behind Jay, Cameron and the other 75 inspiring donors who will be represented through floragraphs.
We’ll have plenty of photos and video from the event so stay tuned for a recap next week.
