A couple weeks ago, our friendly OPO (organ procurement organization) neighbors to the north at LifeSource launched a new campaign on behalf of Donate Life Minnesota called Half the Men.
The purpose of the campaign is to take a direct approach to men ages 45-65. Minnesota men in this age range register as organ/tissue donors at a lower rate than the general population. Thus, the Half the Men campaign seeks to raise the rate of registration in this age group to 50% by the end of October 2009, hopefully resulting in more than 13,000 new organ and tissue registrants.
Be sure to check out the campaign at www.HalftheMen.org as they’ve taken a fun approach, quirky approach to calling out the goofy things men do and relating it back to a lack of registered donors. Check out the video below for a sample.
You can also follow the progress of the campaign on their blog, Twitter and Facebook.

LOVE your campaign. I’ve borrowed the “Pesky Belts” video for my blog to promote my Kilimanjaro climb for organ donation awareness. It’s been a popular post.
Thanks so much, I’ll let Donate Life MN know!
