June 12-13 will mark the first annual Donate Life Hollywood Film Festival!
As many of you know, we’re huge fans of using video to help tell the donation story in a compelling visual format that brings to life personal ties to the issue. We were quite excited when we received some info about submissions for this festival.
Though the deadline for submissions passed last week, the Festival has accepted films from anyone and everyone that has produced a video on the topic.
The actual event will take place on June 12 & 13 out in Los Angeles at the Directors Guild of America. Those in attendance will include Hollywood Directors and Writers Guild members, producers, documentary film makers, film students, organ donor families and transplant recipients, transplant and trauma surgeons, medical leaders and the general public.
In addition to screenings of long and short films, recent Will Smith film Seven Pounds will be screened at the Festival and awarded for their Outstanding Portrayal of Organ & Tissue Donation in Motion Picture.
We’ll keep you posted if any of our submissions are selected to screen!
HUGE thanks to Donate Life California for coordinating this event and Astellas Transplant for sponsoring.
Happy Friday,
Scott

Good Luck! The “I heart organ donors” video is genius!
Thanks Pam!
This is so cool! I hope the “I heart” video or any of your submissions wins!
